New Manager Named for Mundelein’s DoubleTree Hotel

The award-winning DoubleTree by Hilton, Libertyville-Mundelein, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica Galle, as general manager.

Galle has over a decade of hospitality experience with IHG Hotels spanning several brands within the chain’s portfolio. Most recently, she served on the executive committee of the Crowne Plaza West Loop in downtown Chicago as the Assistant General Manager. Galle has already assumed her new position to help ease the transition. Galle replaces departing General Manager, Kip Stehling who is leaving to accept a position as General Manager of the Crowne Plaza West Loop in Chicago.

Having excelled in the industry for over a decade, Jessica has assumed roles in hotel operations, sales, and revenue management positions. This well-rounded experience in all aspects of hotel management will serve her well in this new position. “Jessica’s commitment to her team along with delivering excellent service and guest experiences, has been her path to success. From a downtown market to the suburbs, Jessica brings her energy and enthusiasm to Lake County and we are very fortunate to have her,” Stehling said.

Stehling, who has been managed the property since the beginning of 2014, brought inspiration and vision to the beautiful mission style hotel synonymous with the area. “The team I inherited a dedicated, genuine, and caring group of individuals, who with vision and inspiration, have been able to take the property to incredible heights, creating a rewarding experience for guests and the local community,” Stehling added.

The Frank Lloyd Wright inspired property, which was re-imagined in 2000 is wrapping up its most recent renovation of guestrooms and public area spaces set to complete March 1, 2018.

DoubleTree by Hilton, Libertyville-Mundelein, is now ranked in the top 5% of all DoubleTrees in the Americas. Recent awards include the Daily Herald Reader’s Choice “best hotel local” two years in a row, and additional awards in 2017 include “best meeting site for large groups,” “best place to host a quinceañera,” and Stehling’s most celebrated award – “best place to work.”

The property is also the recipient of the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for the past five consecutive years, and one of the top-rated Wedding venues in Lake County as reported on WeddingWire.com. Locally, the property has won the “Gold-Star Business” award in 2016, and a Mayoral proclamation for their investment in the community in 2017, acting as a safe haven for families in need of emergency housing for natural disasters such as home fires and flooding at no expense to the victims.
