Mayor Lentz, Economic Development Commission Invite Mundelein Businesses to 2019 Business Appreciation Breakfast

In celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit and in recognition of the important contributions the Mundelein business community makes to the economic vitality of our community, Mayor Steve Lentz in partnership with the Economic Development Commission (EDC), invites businesses to the annual Business Appreciation and Networking Breakfast on February 21, 2019 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Doubletree Hotel, 510 East Route 83, Mundelein. The Business Appreciation Breakfast is specifically targeted to the business community.

All Mundelein business owners, managers, and staff are welcome and encouraged to attend. There is no charge for this event, however reservations are required. Please RSVP by February 15 to

This year's keynote address will be provided by customer service expert and renowned national speaker, Laurie Guest. Laurie provides a hilarious, engaging, and thought-provoking program which is bound to reignite audience members’ passion for providing excellent service in a competitive market. Known as a fast-talking funny lady from the Midwest, audiences relate to Laurie’s genuine personality, approachable demeanor, and witty banter that makes people laugh.

Laurie Guest, CSP, is a highly sought after speaker whom meeting planners call upon event after event to deliver top-notch content with a good dose of motivational laughter. She is well-known for her imaginative ideas and entertaining style. This Chicago area native motivates and invigorates audiences in the Midwest and beyond with lively, empowering, and relatable messages.

The morning begins with the popular Business Showcase: an expo of local businesses, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. The Business Showcase’s primary objective is to promote and celebrate Mundelein businesses. Reservations for Business Showcase tables must be made in advance by contacting or by calling 847-949-3282.

The main program immediately follows the Business Showcase at 8:30 a.m. with comments from Mayor Lentz and EDC Chairman, Larry Gallas. The Mayor will address economic development and business development in Mundelein and provide a snapshot of 2019 key initiatives. Additionally, he will take questions from the audience on issues important to the business community.

“This event continues to grow in popularity year over year and I encourage all Mundelein business owners and staff to attend. The Appreciation Breakfast affords us the opportunity to thank the business community for their contributions to Mundelein and share information on a number of important issues impacting business in the year ahead,” Mayor Lentz said.

“We think it’s important to reach out to our business community and let them know we appreciate their investment in Mundelein. We want to share with them the positive strides we continue to make to enhance the Village. There are many new projects on the horizon that we are very excited to share with our business partners,” he added.

Keynote Speaker’s Background
Laurie Guest, CSP began her training as a customer service expert at the tender age of nine. As a Midwest farmer’s daughter, she learned to master the art of customer engagement to sell more sweet corn than the competition. Of course, they didn’t call it superior customer service back then, but we all know the concept today. Laurie’s approach to improving customer service and motivating teams has helped thousands of people in a variety of industries learn action steps that they can put to immediate use.
