Mayor’s Cup STEM Challenge Fast Approaching— Cash Prizes Awarded to Winners

The annual Mayor’s Cup STEM Challenge will take place at Mundelein High School Sunday, March 17 from noon to 4 p.m. at Mundelein High School. It will be an opportunity for Mundelein students to showcase their Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) skills, earn cash awards and have fun in the process.

This year’s event will feature Individual Math Competition for students to test and showcase their mathematical knowledge and the new Team-Based Engineering Competition for teams of three to five students to demonstrate problem-solving, critical thinking, creative engineering and more.

Interested students should register with math teachers at participating schools no later than March 1. The Challenge is open to all Mundelein students who attend school in Districts 75, 76, 79, 120, Carmel High School, Mechanics Grove or any student who resides within District 120 boundaries but attends another elementary or middle school not listed. Home schooled students within these boundaries are also welcome to compete.
