Fremont Township in conjunction with SWALCO, is hosting the annual Recycle-O-Rama on Saturday, August 24 from 9 a.m. until Noon at the Fremont Township Complex-22376 Erhart Road in Mundelein. Please enter off of Erhart Road. This event will accept household items ONLY. No business recycling will be accepted. For a complete list of acceptable items, please visit

Here are a few of the items that will be accepted at this recycling event:

Organizers will accept up to three bankers’ boxes of paper for shredding but only until the truck is full. You must make sure there are no binders, clips, or paperclips in the material to be shredded because these items jam the truck. If these items have not been removed prior to bringing the material to be shredded, we won’t be able to take your shredding. The goal is to move people through as quickly as possible, so we cannot allow you to remove them on site.

If anyone is looking for volunteer opportunities, please call Nancy Lech at 847 223-2847 to register to help.
