Concerts in the Park Welcomes Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band

The Village of Mundelein and the Mundelein Park and Recreation District’s Concerts in the Park series this week welcomes Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band (BGSB)—one of the premiere symphonic bands in Chicagoland. The concert takes place on July 14 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Kracklauer Park. All concerts are FREE! Attendance at Mundelein’s Concerts in the Park continues to be excellent…so join in the fun! Bring your own snacks and drinks and have an enjoyable evening in the park.

Formed in 2001, the BGSB plays and performs all varieties of music from classical to Broadway to pop and jazz. In the last 16 years, the band has performed over 150 concerts to capacity audiences, including formal concerts each year at Stevenson and Buffalo Grove High Schools, as well as holiday concerts at local churches over the Christmas holidays and summer concerts, including Buffalo Grove Days, Willow Stream Park, and the Buffalo Grove Invitational Fine Art Festival. Their annual Independence Day Concert at the Buffalo Grove Rotary Green has become a yearly tradition that brings over 3,000 people to hear the performance two hours before the start of the village’s fireworks display. Mundelein Concerts in the Park organizers are thrilled to once again welcome the group to Mundelein for another memorable performance!

Whether you like Artie Shaw, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, and Glenn Miller, Modern Composers like William Schuman, or Wind Band composers like Eric Whitacre and David Maslanka - there will be something there for you to love. Live music by a dedicated group of fine musicians and it’s FREE!

The Concert in the Park music enthusiasts work behind the scenes to book bands and musical groups that will appeal to a wide range of musical tastes. Feedback from concert goers has been overwhelmingly positive. The Concerts in the Park summer series is sponsored by the Village of Mundelein and the Mundelein Park and Recreation District.
