The Administration Department coordinates the operations of all Village departments. Located in the Administration Department are Human Resources, Customer Service, Computer/IT Management, Planning, Communication and Marketing, as well as general economic development and public information. The Administration Department prepares the Village budget, develops Village Ordinances, resolutions, rules, regulations and policies; performs all strategic planning operations, conducts public relations and communications activities; risk management functions; oversees franchise agreements; coordinates business attraction and retention programs; coordinates all intergovernmental operations; serves as liaison to various Village commissions; assures compliance with Federal and State government policies; and maintains the free-flow of cooperation and communication between Village departments and the residents. The Customer Service office is the information center of the Village of Mundelein and also provides a variety of services for residents including: voter registration, RTA passes for senior citizens who are 65 or older, PACE registration for persons who are 55 or older and handicapped parking applications and permits.

Water Bill Payment
The Village of Mundelein has a municipal water facility. Water bills are generated by the Finance Department and payments are received in the Customer Service office. Other miscellaneous invoices for various services or materials are generated in the Customer Service office as well. Bill payments can be made in person or by night drop, via mail, or through our new online water billing system. If you are a new resident or business and need to have your water turned on or to set up a new billing account, please call the Water Division at (847) 949-3273. Registration of Animals
Effective January 1, 2006, Village of Mundelein's local ordinance no longer requires annual registration of all cats and dogs. However, dogs and cats 4 months or more of age must be registered with the Lake County Health Department and must be inoculated against rabies in accordance with the County regulations. Rabies tags issued to the owner must be attached to the animal’s collar at all times. New residents of the village keeping a dog or a cat must register the animal with Lake County within 30 days of establishing residency.
Business and Liquor Licenses
The Customer Service office accepts application and fees for all business and liquor licenses. All firms selling alcohol must be licensed. Many, but not all, businesses require a business license. Solicitor Registration
All profit and non-profit solicitors, canvassers, and religious callers are required to register with the Customer Service office.

HUMAN RESOURCES

Purpose and Function
The Village of Mundelein’s Human Resources department oversees the process to hire new employees and provide benefits administration. The department also manages labor relations, compensation issues, equal opportunity, and training. The manager works with managers from all departments to ensure that the Village maintains a high-quality, dedicated workforce.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Carmen Pedraza, Director
Purpose and Function
The department provides information technology services to the mayor and all village departments to enable them to serve the public in a cost-effective and efficient manner. It also provides computer services to other governmental and non-governmental agencies doing business with the City.
The department manages the Village's computer network and a central data processing operations center twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

The Communication and Marketing Department communicates important and timely information about Village news and services through the website, video programming and print materials. The goal is to showcase the Village of Mundelein’s numerous attributes to promote economic development and to communicate information that is timely, accessible, and useful.
